Picked up the new bike yesterday. (sorry no pics until the steerer gets lopped off). I haven't had any time to ride it yet, just a few miles around the hood. Probably tomorrow.
The first thing I notice is there is a ton of chain rub on the FD when standing on the pedals, everywhere across the cluster, both little and big chainrings. Ti frame, Ultegra 11sp compact, ChrisKing BB. I trim the FD when seated and when I stand... holy hell! It's a mess. I hope it's not the frame flexing but something is definitely not up to par here.
Thoughts?
I'd have to say the front shifting is quite good otherwise. Super smooth, the chain just glides right over when up-shifting.

Clamp-on or braze on?

Take 'er back where she came from and have em fix it; that's just unacceptable.

If it is that bad I would say the braze on tab was installed incorrectly. There is enough adjustment to account for it, so hopefully it won't be a problem.

I have actually tweaked a braze on for the FD just a bit to get it to work better on a new bike. Take it back and if they are worth their salt they should be able to figure it out, could be one of a number of niggling things

Front derailleur adjustment has always been one of those things that you just have to spend a little extra time to dial in. A slight bend here, a subtle position shift in mounting...

Yeah, finally got a good ride in this morning and it's not as bad as I feared. I'll get her dialed.
When I was shopping around, I started getting the feeling that with the 11s, folks are going to appreciate the auto-trim of electrics a lot more. I still went with the mech but when we get to 12s and 14s, I'll probably go electric.

I'm debating going Ultegra Di2 or just swapping over my current Campag Record 10 to the new frame. See other thread about not informing Mrs. CK about the frame yet.....I may have to stick with the Campag.
I am still running the original 10spd carbon Record shifters from 2000.....you'd think I'd get some credit for that, ya know?
Just say "NO!" to WCP!!!!

you get forum credit for those brifters.
If I wasn't a cheapskate and a bit of a luddite, I'd have gone with the Di2. It's a very worthwhile development IMO. I'm sure that Venge can handle Di2 nicely.
