I have agree with you though I've hiked the trials of mt. tamalpais and headlands more than rode them. I liked the video mentioning the Cuban Missile Crisis, I was in Air Force Air Police training when we went on alert, we really thought we were going to war. I was guarding Missile Silos in Oklahoma at the time.

Though the Military razed the lands around Tamalpais and the Presidio in San Francisco we can thank them for keeping these lands out of greedy hands of private interests so now they are part of our National Parks and protected.

I agree, Bob, but it would be nice though if the military could help remove those concrete foundations and support the natural restoration.

I always think of how Los Angeles and San Diego would be one continuous sprawl - Los Diego - if it weren't for Camp Pendleton. It remains the only true native Southern California habitat we have left - well, those parts that haven't been bombed ; )
