OK - so I want to read about the Heat BBall game last night and I go here:

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1657311-lebron-james-puts-teammates-pacers-on-blast-in-dominant-game-5?utm_source=cnn.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=editorial&hpt=hp_t3&hpt=hp_t3

and they now regularly include what must be 'twats' from players reinforcing what the article is about. Is this supposed to give more feel or depth to the story? James riled up his team and they excelled - got it. By hearing/seeing the twats about people saying just that - what does that bring to the article?

Wow - so-and-so said that James bitched at them and they got more focused. I think I need to 'follow' him now.

To me - it brings nothing additional to an interesting sports story.

As I've said before - there is no one I can think of that I need to hear their 'spur of the moment 165 character thoughts.' Even people I respect - and god forbid I think that anyone would be that interested in what I'm doing - "rode to work today in a whoreish wind" - who gives a F? Like people are so important that you need to hear BS offhand comments @ things.

You want to impress me? Take some of your millions and help humanity or animals some way - vs. buying a 5th Lambo or a new 15,000 mansion. Read an interesting book and tell me about it.

... just another example of our immeidate need satisifaction throw away culture IMHO.

Rant over. yes, i slept poorly last night and I'm kinda pissy this AM

If Mark Twain were alive, he'd be the first guy I'd follow on Twitter.

Other than that, there must be someone who cares or it would fade away.

Or maybe I am missing something.

Your first mistake was reading about basketball. something about that sport and baseball...

Sometimes tweets can be insightful and actually give perspective. But my sense is, that when those sorts are reported in stories, a lot of filtering has been done.

Isn't twitter the language of birds and twits? (I wouldn't know; I don't.)

Off off topic. My wife is a historical interpreter at the Mark Twain house.

CB2,
That's pretty darned cool! I'd love to go hang out there when I get a chance.

I've long believed in the Triune God - Beethoven, Mark Twain, and Walter Johnson ...
