Never thought I'd feel sorry for Moscon

Oh hell no…FTG, period. He deserves whatever bad luck comes his way. His transfer to Astana is probably the best pairing of a team and douchecanoe rider in a long time.

Funny, I picked up a copy of Street Roots, the local paper of, for and by for the homeless yesterday. Front Page headline - "What's In a Monument?" Haven't read it yet but I suspect it is about either artists creating them or the Civil War and others being taken down, not the 5 we live for but the timing - impeccable!

So Colbrelli says he flatted twice in Roubaix, once near very beginning of race, but tubeless sealant worked perfectly. Never needed to change. Interesting.

Don’t believe the DQS setup held up nearly as well.

I saw that D-QS was going full disk/tubeless before the race and thought that just didn't sound smart. A new technology for them, P-R is virtually dead flat, punctures are a fact of life in that race and there probably isn't a team out there with more experience with and better access to sewups and wheels.  Also that I'm hopelessly old-school and probably need to wake up.

Race happens and and other teams do very well with the new stuff (well except for the guy who used a size 45 brake shoe) but D-QS?  They needed those sewup!  (Moscon might have benefited also.  I'd rather a world class silk sewup pumped a little too hard over any beaded tire and rim equally too hard.  And had he rim brakes, he could have kept his bike and only need to watch one tire.  Thankfully, that didn't happen!)

I see we have a thread on Sidi brake shoes.  Gonna open that next.

Ben - DQS ditched tubulars a year ago in favour of clinchers with tubes. Been doing well enough on them all year in most conditions. They should have gone tubeless for Roubaix but didn’t. Both men’s and women’s race wax won on tubeless.

Tubeless or tubulars...using clinchers was no doubt the worst possible equipment choice for those conditions and it showed.

I just read where Lizzie Deignan's tyre pressure was 2.3 bar ~33 psi
Holy crap! You're not doing that with a tube set up successfully.

I'll stay tubular on my cx race wheels only because I have them. If I were starting from scratch I'd be tubeless.

Deignan must be a featherweight. 2.3 bars is way lower than Colbrelli who started with 3.4 front and 3.8 rear and ended with 3 front and 2.8 rear.
