Do you guys keep track of you miles? Be interesting to see. I copied and paste from my Garmin. I got my last ride in today and managed to squeak out 3.8K for the year. Tomorrow I go under the knife for a double hernia (Belly button and groin). Any good advise for recovery. At my advanced age of 71, I'm almost to my goal of 5000 mi (about 100 short). However, these miles are pretty darn slow and not too many long rides anymore. I'm recovering from eye surgery, which was horrible. Only putting in 2 or 3 days a week right now. Things are getting better, but it's been a slow recovery. I had a pterygium removed. Graft came off, and I have a scratch on my cornea. Tip- invest in some quality sun glasses. It's not all about looks.

3927 to date. A poor year for me. A month off to start the year (my feet needed a break from cycling shoes), hard crash in June, infected hand last month. Remodeled my kitchen. 6000+ would be closer to norm at this point of the year.

Currently, 2,183 on Strava. I didn't switch to Strava until just before summer. I was able to import some MMR rides, but not all.

I would like to hit 3K by the end of the year...if my students would quit infecting me with every germ known to man.

I'm at 7200km on the road on strava right now for the year, but I also do a lot of spin bike hours as well.
Strava has me at 540 hours total for the year right now. That includes all road rides, spin bike workouts and workouts on a concept2 rowing machine. I would guess probably 425 of those hours are bike or spin bike, the rest are the rowing machine. For totals, I'd estimate about 12000km equiv on the bikes and 1725km rowing for the year.

I might get to 2,500 mi by the end of the year. But I have no goals other than to enjoy the rides I do at this point, so I am happy with the number.

Less than 2k for the first time in decades. Too much going on, arthritis slowing me down.

Prob only about 1,500 miles to date for me, lowest in a long time. Very busy year: moved in February, married in September, still working on the old house to get it sold this spring. Problem too is when I do ride, I'll go 45-50 miles and really push what fitness I do have.

With the earlier darkness and winter coming on, I may switch to my ancient, narrower-tire, fender-equipped ATB and SPD pedals.

Any miles are good miles, I suppose!

only 99.4km away from 10,000km for the year. should break it this week.

what's 9,900.6km in miles? 6151.95 just doesn't sound as impressive. another 18 hours should break 400 for the year.

Joe Friel's annual plan just puts those hours just at the top of the "Finish the Race" category for races lasting 3 hours. can't even imagine trying to fit in any more time than that never mind double or triple that to get into the "High Performance" category.

i don't keep track but some quick estimates of commuting miles plus weekend rides comes to around 3000 miles this year. spin class plus beer runs by bike probably add a couple of more.

I love Strava.

I probably have shot more photos than total miles ridden this year. 1,297 as of today on my odometer. A few more training rides and throw in the El Tour I hope to end up with at least over 1,500.

It's November 11, people. What are we counting miles for already? There's a good 6 weeks of riding left in this year!

I should make my usual 6000+ km since 1997. Before that I raced and managed another 1500 to 2000 more km since mid 1980s. Around 175,000 total since I got interested in racing. A pro does that in 6 years or a factor of 4 times the miles.
